Zhoushan's foreign trade sees robust growth in H1

The imports and exports of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province were worth 165.75 billion yuan ($23.07 billion) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent, according to official statistics. 

Exports were valued at 52.88 billion yuan, while imports stood at 112.87 billion yuan, increases of 4.4 percent and 14.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.

One of the most significant contributors to the growth was the city's ship repair industry, with exports amounting to 9.91 billion yuan, an uptick of 37.1 percent year-on-year.

Authorities have also been making efforts to bolster its service trade, with service imports and exports hitting 6.93 billion yuan over the period, increasing by 31.24 percent. Digital service trade registered 1.51 billion yuan, expanding by 82.5 percent.

In addition, the local government has taken measures to strengthen offshore trade and cross-border e-commerce, with the cross-border payment of offshore trade hitting $5.72 billion and cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reaching 1.84 billion yuan from January to June.
