Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has made significant strides in optimizing its business environment over the past two decades.

One of the most outstanding achievements is that the city's government services have undergone digital transformation, with business license application, moderation and related matters available online.

Sinopec Zhejiang Zhoushan Petroleum Co is one of the beneficiaries of the reform. Bao Yingying, a staff member of the company said she needed to prepare a large pile of paper materials for annual enterprise inspection in 2009, but since 2017 she only needs to submit related materials online, and this has significantly reduced time and cost for her company.

She added that the efficient government services have also created a conducive environment for expanding business, and her company now operates businesses related to new energy vehicles at some gas stations.

Authorities have also been making efforts to upgrade related facilities, including air-conditioners and office space, to provide better experience for people.
