A musical drama featuring the stunning scenery and culture of the Xiandu Scenic Area, a national 5A-level tourist attraction – located in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – has won widespread acclaim from millions of viewers across China.

The drama, titled Luo Shui Yi Ren, was part of a special program to highlight the traditional Chinese festival, the Qingming Festival – or Tomb-Sweeping Day – which fell on April 5 this year. The program, 2023 Qingming Wonderful Tour, was broadcasted on April 4 and quickly topped the hot search lists of various online platforms.

In the drama, dancers in elegant costumes performed in the wheat fields, on the stone bridges and beside the stalagmites of the Xiandu Scenic Area, creating an enchanting picture of spring and Chinese culture.

The Xiandu Scenic Area is known for its unique landscape of peaks, rocks, rivers and waterfalls. It is also a popular film and television base in China, attracting many crews to shoot footage there in recent years.

Wang Tingting, the director of the 2023 Qingming Wonderful Tour production team, said this was not the first time they had come to the Xiandu Scenic Area to film, because each time they went, there was always something else to capture.

In the first half of this year, more than 10 films and television dramas are scheduled to be shot in the Xiandu Scenic Area.
