Deng Jiaxiang emerged as the champion in the men's 73kg category in the U18 group at the 2022 National Youth Judo Championships, which was held in Meishan city, Southwest China's Sichuan province from Feb 12 to 21.

The contest, which was sponsored by the Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China and the Chinese Judo Association, attracted more than 600 contestants from 30 judo teams across the nation.

A native of Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, Deng also took home the gold medal of the same event at the judo competition of the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province.
