Patterns featuring two phoenixes on a vast stretch of rice fields in Tonglu county, East China's Zhejiang province have been a hit among locals.
The patterns in Huigang village, Fengchuan sub-district was created by a group of students from Zhejiang Gongshang University by growing rice of different colors.
"I didn't expect it to be so difficult to grow rice, but I am proud to see the seedlings in the paddy field grow into the phoenix pattern," Chen Xiaji, a student among them.
The patterns will be an integral part of a new scenic spot which the university is building in the village, according to Su Yang, a teacher at Zhejiang Gongshang University.
