Jiang Lijuan, a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Party secretary of Xiajiang village in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province.

Shortly after serving as secretary of the village, Jiang Lijuan visited 223 rural households in Xiajiang village to help solve their difficulties.

In 2021, the per capita income of Xiajiang village was more than 46,900 yuan ($6591), exceeding the average per capita disposable income of rural residents in Hangzhou.

Jiang Lijuan has optimized and upgraded the canteen for the elderly, built a leisure center for the elderly, and built a new children's home to provide left-behind children with a healthy and happy space for development.

In addition, Jiang Lijuan played a critical role in the branding and standardization of the management of homestays, using bedding, toiletries and utensils bearing the brand logo of Xiajiang village to drive the sales of local agricultural products.

In 2021, the tourism income of Xiajiang village reached 71.46 million yuan, while the village collective income reached 19.569 million yuan.
