The "In Zhoushan, Islands Connect the World" 2022 Archipelago Zhoushan Global Communication Event was held in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province from Sept 7 to 9.

The event invited foreigners from Slovakia, Morocco, Kazakhstan and many other countries to visit Zhoushan to explore its local marine culture, folklore, and night market, as well as learn about its common prosperity drive.

The delegation visited places including Xinjian village in Dinghai district, which is famous for its natural scenery and green tourism, as well as scenic spots including the ancient town in Daishan County.

Dinghai is in the midst of a campaign to promote the building of green villages. The goal is to build six demonstration sites - Ma'ao Village, Huangsha Village, Guanghua Village, Yujia Village, Dongdao Island, and Donghai Farm – in the future.

The delegation also got to savor the local seafood in the night market, explore marine customs in the countryside, and learn about intangible cultural heritages such as Zhoushan's fishing rope knot during the three-day trip.

The city has a long history of holding festivals like the Fisherman Painting Festival, the China Marine Culture Festival, and the Mount Putuo Avalokitesvara Culture Festival.
