Four works from Zhejiang win Eighth Lu Xun Literature Prize

The Eighth Lu Xun Literature Prize announced its final winners in Beijing on Aug 25. This year, four works from Zhejiang were awarded.

Ai Wei won the prize with his novella An Everlasting Life. Ai Wei is the chairman of Zhejiang Writers Association. Many works of him have been translated into English, Italian, German, Japanese, Russian and other languages for publication.

Writer Zhong Qiushi won for his short stories.

For poems, the winner Chen Renjie won for his collection of poems, which are the spiritual words written by Chen Renjie when he traveled all over Tibet. The poetry collection records the beautiful scenery and ancient civilization of Tibet.

In addition, the reportage published and declared by Zhejiang Education Publishing House won the prize.

One of the country's top literary prizes, Lu Xun Literature Prize was established to honor Lu Xun, the celebrated Chinese author active in early 20th century who is considered a forerunner of modern-day Chinese language and literature. The first Lu Xun prize came out in 1997 for outstanding works published in 1995-96, and since then the literary honor has followed a three-year cycle.
