Zhejiang's first white paper on development of digital economy released
Zhejiang authorities on Wednesday issued a white paper regarding the development of its digital economy since 2017.
According to the white paper, the added value of Zhejiang's digital economy last year was 3.6 trillion yuan ($533.52 billion), accounting for 48.6 percent of the province's GDP.
Zhejiang is now aiming to double the added value of its digital economy and the added value of its core industries to more than 7 trillion yuan and 1.6 trillion yuan in 2027 respectively.
To achieve this goal, Zhejiang will build a digital technology innovation center with global influence, promote digital industrialization and industrial digitalization, and innovate the institutional systems and mechanisms of the digital economy.
In addition, Zhejiang will build a global new-financial center, a global digital trade center, a pilot area for data infrastructure systems, a pilot area for digital empowerment and common prosperity, and a new computational power center.
