Yuan Jiajun, Party secretary of East China's Zhejiang province, went on an inspection tour of Taishun and Wencheng counties, which are in the jurisdiction of Wenzhou, from Sept 7 to 8.

The inspection tour was themed around promoting accelerated high-quality development in Zhejiang's 26 mountainous counties as part of the province's drive to achieve common prosperity.

Based in Taishun's Pengxi town, Zhejiang Kanghong Biology Technology Co is focused on the deep processing of gardenias, which are widely planted there. While visiting its smart workshops, Yuan spoke highly of the company's contribution to utilizing local resources and enriching local farmers.

At an administrative service center in Taishun's Luoyang town, Yuan learned about the county's achievements in relocating and sheltering more than one fourth of its population over the past two years. Yuan noted that local authorities should guarantee these farmers' employment statuses and improve their quality of life in the process of urbanization.

At an agriculture technology service complex in Eryuan town, Wencheng county, Yuan was informed about how technological innovations are shaping local agriculture sectors. He noted that the local government should stress the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, as well as accelerate the modernization of rural villages.

Wuyang village in Wencheng's Nantian town is the birthplace of Liu Bowen (1311-1375), one of the greatest politicians and writers in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The village has seen booming tourism in recent years. Yuan visited homestay hotels in the village, as well as called on local authorities to further utilize ecological and cultural resources to nurture characteristic industries, thus boosting the incomes of villagers.
