Ningbo ranks 6th nationwide in per capita disposable income
Ningbo's per capita disposable income stood at 36,435 yuan ($5,605) in the first half of this year, ranking sixth nationwide.
The figure also represented a year-on-year growth of 14.3 percent or 4,564 yuan, the largest increase among the top 10 cities in China in terms of per capita disposable income.
Shanghai topped the nation with its per capita disposable income surpassing 40,000 yuan, followed by Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Shaoxing, Xiamen, and Nanjing.
Six out of the top 10 cities are located in the Yangtze River Delta, a region encompassing the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, as well as Shanghai municipality.
Among the 11 cities in Zhejiang, nine cities had a per capita disposable income of more than 30,000 yuan over the six-month period.
In Ningbo, the per capita disposable income among its urban residents amounted to 41,333 yuan, while the figure among rural residents was 23,927 yuan, an increase of 5.2 percent during this period.
The ratio of per capita income between its urban and rural residents was 1.73, much lower than the national average of 2.61.
In addition, the per capita wage income of Ningbo residents was 21,030 yuan in the first half of the year, rising 11.2 percent year-on-year, while the per capita net operating income was valued at 6,802 yuan, up 21.3 percent.
Net operating income refers to the net income obtained by households or members of households engaged in production and business activities.
In terms of consumption, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Ningbo reached 216.13 billion yuan from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 19.5 percent.
The amount and growth rate were ranked 19th and 17th in China respectively.
