Village achieves prosperity by developing rural tourism

Formerly a poverty-stricken village, Hengkantou village has now emerged as a well-off and civilized village and a popular tourism destination.
Hengkantou village in Yuyao, East China Zhejiang province, was once an under-developed village. It has taken advantage of its natural and cultural resources to become a popular tourist spot with well-designed residential areas and green parks. The village now attracts millions of tourists every year.
In 2003, the village's annual per capita income was 2,700 yuan. In 2019, it was more than 36,000 yuan.
