Fishers busy with mussel-farming on Gouqi Island
Gouqi Island, the easternmost island of the Shengsi Archipelago in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, is a well-known production base for Chinese mussels. The surrounding areas are often dubbed "Ranch on the Sea", as some 600 fishers raise mussels there.
Now is a crucial season for mussel breeders. Many fishing boats were recently seen navigating between white mussel-farming floats in the sea, creating an interesting scene.
