Wu Xianjin and seven other artists have been working on a root-carving artwork in Wu's workshop in Xianju county, East China's Zhejiang province for five months.

The original artwork, featuring 14 key moments and sites in the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has been basically completed and will be given to a local museum as a gift before July 1, which marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

Wu is an officially designated inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage item of root carvings in Zhejiang.
