Nearly 1,000 tai chi enthusiasts staged a tai chi performance in front of the Asian Games Sailing Center, the venue for the sailing contests of the 19th Asian Games, in Ningbo's Xianghsan county on April 27.

The event was organized by local authorities to mark the beginning of the 500-day countdown to the Asian Games, which will be held in 2022.

Xiangshan has been designated the host city of the games' sailing and beach volleyball competitions.

Tai chi is a traditional physical practice characterized by relaxed, circular movements that work in harmony with breath regulation for the cultivation of a relaxed and clear mind. It has been added to UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list.
