Guardians of Hangzhou Embroidery
The "Beautiful Zhejiang" Global Short Video Contest, which ran from July to December last year, attracted hundreds of original work submissions from talented video creators both at home and abroad.
The videos showcase the amazing landscapes, culture, and socioeconomic development of East China's Zhejiang province from a global perspective, while also capturing colorful images and heart-warming moments from real life.
The online exhibition season for the contest's award-winning videos was recently launched across a wide range of media platforms, including ZTV-World, ZTV NEWS, China Blue, the In Zhejiang website, Xinhua-affiliated websites, Iberia Universal Lda in Portugal, as well as our website, which is an English news portal for the province.

Hangzhou Embroidery, an intangible cultural heritage item in Zhejiang province, is a traditional handicraft that is "passed on to sons, but not daughters", a strictly obeyed rule of the profession. Nowadays, the nearly 70 year old Zhao Yijun is the only male inheritor of the handicraft in the city of Hangzhou.
