Yuan Jiajun, Party secretary of Zhejiang province, visited Shaoxing and Hangzhou's Xiaoshan district to learn about their progress in digitization reform, local media reported on March 24.

During the visit, Yuan, on behalf of the provincial government, noted that digitization reform shall lead the province's modernization efforts and achieve a good start in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

In Shaoxing, Yuan watched a presentation of the city's "enterprise code 2.0", which is based on China's health QR code to monitor enterprises' status and can be used in various scenarios. He spoke highly of the convenient operation model and its contributions to streamlining administrative processes.

Yuan also visited Shaoxing's public security bureau and inspected its "public opinion collection center" and "collaborative operation center", both of which are the latest practices of the "Fengqiao experience" social governance method.

This method was created in Fengqiao town in the 1960s when the local government sought to improve the public's engagement in mediating disputes. It later became a national model for public security.

Yuan said that digitalized thinking and methods are key to a city's innovation in urban management, governance system, and administration philosophy. He encouraged local officials to share more data with the general public.

In Xiaoshan, Yuan viewed an integrated public data platform which handles the district's economic and industrial information as well as help reduce corruption in villages and communities. He praised the district's work and called for further breakthroughs in using the City Brain system to improve the city's healthcare services.

The City Brain system is a smart city platform that helps to improve urban management through the use of big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, among other cutting-edge technologies. The platform is also being used to improve city governance in Hangzhou.
