Four shipyards in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province were on the list of top 10 shipyards in the world in 2020, according to Clarkson Research, the most authoritative provider of data and insights for global shipping.

The four Zhoushan shipyard companies were Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard Co Ltd, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co Ltd, Zhoushan Longshan Shipyard Co Ltd, and Paxocean Engineering (Zhoushan) Co Ltd.

In addition, according to the China Association of Ship Repair, Zhoushan IMC-Yongyue Shipyard and Engineering Co Ltd was recognized as the most profitable company of the industry in the country in 2020.

IMC-Yongyue repaired 133 ships, generated 1.15 billion yuan ($117.08 million) in output, and earned more than 400 million yuan in after-tax profit last year.

In 2020, Zhoushan repaired 1,900 international ships, with an annual output value of 5.3 billion yuan.
