More animal species recorded in Zhejiang
The Zhejiang provincial government agency for wildlife conservation and the Zhejiang monitor center for forest resources recently published a report on the province’s performance in protecting wild animals during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period.
According to the report, the province is currently home to 790 terrestrial animal species, up from 689 in 2000. The number of animal species in the province accounts for 30 percent of the national total and ranks 8th among all provincial-level regions in China.
