"Digital", "green", and "people-oriented development" were the three words most frequently mentioned by Hangzhou deputies to the ongoing fifth session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress.
Deputies said that Hangzhou should continue to deepen digitalized development, boost industrial digitalization, and set up a world-class digital industry cluster. It should also focus on the independent development of digital technology and strive to become a national comprehensive technology center.
They proposed making better use of the City Brain system and digitalizing city governance.
Deputies said that Hangzhou was motivated by the country's vow to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. They said the city should work with other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region and place environmental protection efforts in a wide range of areas.
Continuing to improve people's living standards was also a hot topic, as deputies made motions related to infant and child care, setting up county-level medical treatment alliances, reinforcing the basic education system, and supporting social rescue teams.
