Hangzhou, Huzhou, Jiaxing, and Shaoxing will become closer as a ring road connecting the four cities was recently announced to be opened to traffic soon.
In 2007, the four cities agreed to co-build the Hangzhou Metropolitan Cycle by enhancing cooperation in transportation, industry, ecological preservation, and public service. Since then, more cities have applied to join in it.
The cycle is playing a pivotal role in promoting regional integration and coordinated development. Quzhou Haichuang Park, located in Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City, is an example of this.
In 2018, Quzhou teamed with the Hangzhou Metropolitan Cycle to address its lack of innovation capabilities and high-caliber skilled workers.
Quzhou Haichuang Park recruited skilled workers in Hangzhou to contribute to the growth of Quzhou.

"This is our company's largest research center, which has more than 120 employees in total," said Ye Cong, a director at HCFA Technology Co. "All of these workers are employed in Hangzhou."
Ye added that the rich human resources in Hangzhou provide strong intellectual support for their research.
Wang Danjun, executive secretary-general of the association of alumni in the Yangtze River Delta region of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, said that as the ties between Hangzhou and Quzhou are getting closer, Quzhou's appeal to skilled workers is becoming stronger.
More than 100 Quzhou companies have made prominent progress in attracting skilled workers and investment by making use of the advantages of Quzhou Haichuang Park, according to representatives of the park.
It is expected that the Hangzhou-Quzhou high-speed railway will be open to traffic in 2022. The new railway, which will shorten the travel time between the two cities to 40 minutes, will tie the two cities even closer.
