Intl cultural exchange week kicks off in Shaoxing

The Focus on Zhejiang International Cultural Exchange Week got underway in Shaoxing on Dec 4.
The first-day event included an art performance, local authorities' speeches, two award ceremonies, and foreigners' sharing of their Zhejiang stories.
Thirty-one foreign friends from 23 countries were honored as "envoys of picturesque Zhejiang". Among are experts, scholars, social media influencers, and expats who have settled down as see Zhejiang as a home as from home.

Seven sites were honored for their contributions in promoting international cultural exchange. They are China Silk Museum, Wuzhen scenic area, Zhejiang Wanli University, Yiwu Jimingshan community, Zhejiang Normal University, Wenzhou Daily, and the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City.
The cultural exchange week was organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province and the Zhejiang Culture and Arts Exchange Association. Shaoxing was selected for its image as a capital of East Asian culture and efforts in promoting international exchanges.
