The 29th plenary session of the promotion body for economic exchanges between China's Zhejiang province and Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture was held online on Nov 25.
Shizuoka Prefecture, located on the Pacific coast, ranks fourth or fifth in Japan in terms of industrial strength. It established sister-city relations with Zhejiang on April 20, 1982
Zhejiang and Shizuoka authorities are adhering to a consensus reached by both sides at the 28th plenary session last year, and have been strengthening their cooperation in many areas, including pandemic prevention and control, industrial chains, agriculture, healthcare, and elderly care.
At the 29th session, both sides agreed that bilateral exchanges and cooperation should be steadily enhanced, to which end they will prioritize the development of the Zhejiang-Shizuoka Asia Cooperation Center and other investment promotion platforms.
