A number of Beijing-based think tanks, research institutes, and news outlets released the 2020 Tourism Competitiveness Report on China's County-Level Regions on Nov 12.

A total of 25 counties and county-level cities in East China's Zhejiang province were included in the report's list of the top 100 counties and county-level cities in terms of comprehensive competitiveness of their tourism sectors. Guizhou province in Southwest China took 10 spots, second only to Zhejiang.

Zhejiang has been the top Chinese province on the list for many years. It took 15 and 17 spots on the list's 2018 and 2019 versions, respectively.

Zhejiang's continued strength in tourism development can be attributed to its abundant tourism attractions resulting from its mountainous terrain and rich history, as well as to the government's many favorable policies in recent years.
