41st Asian Conference on Remote Sensing now underway in Deqing

The 41st Asian Conference on Remote Sensing commenced on Nov 9 in Deqing county, Huzhou. The gathering is themed "Remote Sensing for the Digital Economy" and runs until Nov 11.
The three-day conference, co-organized by the Chinese National Committee for Remote Sensing (CNCRS) and Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS), explores such topics as remote sensing applications, photogrammetry and mapping, geographic information systems and navigation, new sensors and platforms, algorithms and data processing.
The event is an annual meeting of AARS. It is dedicated to promoting remote sensing through the exchange of information, cooperation, international understanding and goodwill amongst the member countries of the Asia-Pacific region. It has become one of the most important international conferences on remote sensing.
Established in 1981, AARS is one of the largest organizations in its field with over 29 member countries.
A top official from Deqing county stated that the output of the geographical information industry in the county had exceeded 10 billion yuan, making it a national hub in the sector, adding that the nation's accomplishments in remote sensing and geographic information technology and application would be showcased during the conference in the coming two days.
