Revolutionary-themed opera staged in Lishui
A revolutionary themed opera called Sheshan Liming (《畲山黎明》) – meaning dawn at Sheshan Mountain – debuted to acclaim on Oct 14 at the grand theater in Lishui, the prefecture-level city in East China's Zhejiang province, according to local officials.
The work was adapted from a true story, which tells the story of a heroic woman from the She ethnic group who saved the Red Army, showing the She people's revolutionary spirit and patriotism.
The performers' exquisite performances, delicate costumes and the stunning lighting and sound effects gave the audience an audio-visual feast.
All the performers were from the Zhejiang Performing Arts Group and a 60-people orchestra performed live for the show.
