The Zhejiang Art Museum, based in the provincial capital of Hangzhou, hosted a high-profile exhibition entitled "The New Classic of Mountains and Seas: Contemporary Art on Chinese Original Myths and Legends" from Oct 1 to Dec 13.

The exhibition includes works by nearly 50 influential contemporary artists which have been inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas, a Chinese classic text that integrates mythology, geography, biology, and folk customs recorded more than 2,000 years ago.
