Lishui provides sound legal environment for green development
Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province has profound natural resources. Its superior ecology has earned it the title of "Natural Oxygen Bar City in China" and "Hometown of Climate Health Preservation in China". It was also among the first batch of national ecological civilization pilot demonstration zones and national ecological protection and construction demonstration zones.
The city has been adhering to the "Two Mountains" theory, which states that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, for 15 years. The city has been focusing on cultivating an eco-tourism industry over the years and has built Lishui Shanju, a public regional homestay brand launched by the local government. In 2019, the gross revenue of Lishui's homestay industry reached 3.76 billion yuan ($542 million).
Preferential and supportive measures have provided strong impetus for the prosperity of local private businesses.
Wu Cong, a post-80s who started a homestay business after returning to his hometown, is grateful for the government support. He said in the past, the identity of tourists was registered in the hotel register and then sent to the police station for verification. Now, with the homestay registration in Zhejiang province app, things are much easier. The government has set up a homestay industry check-in verification system for every homestay owner.
Ecology is the city's biggest advantage, most beautiful name card and most precious resource. To better protect its ecology, Lishui launched an innovative ecological procuratorial model.
The procuratorial organ of Lishui endows ecological inspection with richer connotation and more comprehensive functions, pays attention to ecological environmental protection and serves green development at the same time, which contributes procuratorial power to Lishui to build an important window for comprehensively displaying the achievements and experiences of Zhejiang's high-level ecological civilization construction and high-quality development.
The number of civil public interest lawsuits in the field of ecological and environmental protection of Lishui has ranked first in the province for the past two years.
