Two companies from Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, have been included on the 2020 Hurun Global Unicorn Index, a ranking of the world's non-listed, billion-dollar companies founded after 2000, Jiaxing Daily reported on Aug 9.

The list was released by the Hurun Research Institute and included 586 unicorns from around the world, including 227 in China.

Jiaxing Taimei Medical Technology Co Ltd (351st)

Established in 2013, Taimei Technology is the city's leading talent company and a national hi-tech company. It engages in pharmaceutical research and development (R&D), pharmacovigilance, market access, and pharmaceutical marketing.

Taimei Technology has cooperated with more than 500 leading pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations (CRO) in China and other countries, as well as over 1,600 hospitals. In 2009, its revenue reached 210 million yuan ($30.16 million).

Zhejiang Hozon New Energy Automobile Co Ltd (351st)

Established in 2014, Hozon Auto is an intelligent electric vehicle manufacturer with a registered capital of 1.40 billion yuan.

It has invested 1.15 billion yuan into the construction of an intelligent factory in Tongxiang with an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles, set up R&D centers in Silicon Valley, Beijing, and Jiaxing, and applied for more than 700 patents.

In addition to 200 physical stores in China, Hozon Auto has also cooperated with e-commerce platforms such as JD and Suning to develop online operations.
