Archaeological discoveries related to Silk Road in Eurasia, Africa abundant: report
HANGZHOU, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A recent report, with contribution of nearly 20 experts from over 10 countries, deemed the 2019 archaeological findings related to the Silk Road in Eurasia and Africa as remarkable discoveries.
The report, compiled by the international Silk Road and intercultural exchange research center of the China National Silk Museum, was released Friday at the opening of "2020 Silk Road Week" in Hangzhou, capital of eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
The forum aims to share relevant information on cultural heritage related to the Silk Road and provide opportunities for archaeologists worldwide to exchange information.
The report is divided into four categories, namely, archaeological discoveries, Silk Road-themed exhibitions, academic publications and cultural activities. The first category lists a total of 63 archaeological discoveries related to the Silk Road in 2019.
