Jiaxing in Zhejiang province, Qingpu district in Shanghai, and Suzhou in Jiangsu province decided to cooperate on urban management and law enforcement, according to a signing ceremony held in Jiaxing on May 29.

The cooperation guildlines were inked by the Jiaxing Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, Qingpu Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau, and Suzhou Urban Management Bureau.

The three bureaus decided to test out urban management and integrated law enforcement for the cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.

The guildlines state that the three bureaus will focus on integrating urban management and law enforcement at the municipal, district and township administrative levels.

They will also explore cooperative mechanisms and guarantee measures in coordination, communication, joint conference, joint law enforcement, clue early warning and transfer, mutual recognition of evidence, investigation assistance, assistance for law enforcement, credit information sharing, and legislative coordination.

"Under the guildlines, we will give each other early warnings on cases and carry out seminars and trainings at regular intervals," said a senior official from Jiaxing Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau.

He added that they will also launch joint law enforcement on cross-regional illegal acts, including illegal transport and disposal of construction waste, household waste, kitchen waste, and fireworks, open-air straw burning, and dumping waste into rivers.

The three places will also further strengthen credit supervision and management and share bad credit information including administrative punishment in a bid to safeguard the sound business environment in the YRD region.

Jiashan county in Jiaxing, Qingpu district, and Wujiang district in Suzhou were selected as the demonstration areas for the integrated ecological development in the YRD region in 2019 and are now exploring cooperation in more fields.
