The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has published its 2019 list of China's most beautiful villages. Zhejiang has 12 villages named on the list, which features 260 villages in total.

These villages are located in Huzhou, Lishui, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Wenzhou, Zhoushan, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Quzhou and Ningbo.

They boast not only beautiful natural scenery, but also distinctive local culture and booming tourism.

For example, the Dagangtou village in Liandu district, Lishui has become a cultural industrial park integrating art creation and sightseeing. The development of 'homestay' provides jobs for more than 1,800 local residents.

The Hengkantou village in Ningbo, once in heavy debt, now realizes millions of yuan of annual revenue thanks to the development of tourism. It received more than 700,000 tourists last year. It is now a model village in Zhejiang for the building of an all-round well-off society, and a famous historical and cultural village.
