Shengzhou in Zhejiang province is the birthplace of China's Yueju Opera, one of the most popular operas in the country.

As a combination of skills in singing, speaking, acting and acrobatics, Yueju Opera is a deeply respected and widely acclaimed art form that blends Chinese folk stories, music and drama into a singular lively performance style.

According to the city's plan, a town themed on Yueju Opera, designed to be an international platform where the opera culture and landscapes in Shengzhou are presented and artists from around the globe can have exchanges on opera development, will be unveiled soon.

嵊州市是越剧文化的发祥地之一。越剧，通过唱念做打等艺术表现形式，讲中国故事，展现中国音乐和戏剧文化，已成为备受推崇的传统剧种。

目前，嵊州市正全力打造越剧小镇，旨在为本地戏剧文化搭建国际平台，加强全球艺术家的交流与合作。
