Officials of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China were briefed on the preparations for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the approaching 5th World Internet Conference Oct 29, and gave instructions on further work.

Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province, will hold the next Asian Games in 2022. Che Jun, Party chief of the province, said the organization of the Hangzhou Asian Games is a significant task that Zhejiang has to perform perfectly. He appreciated the achievements the organizing team has made in the past few years and stressed the importance of cooperation between all relevant departments.

Che said the effects of the grand event will boost improvements in urban construction, social management and the transformation and upgrading of industries in Hangzhou and the whole province.

Wuzhen, a water town in Tongxiang city, will hold the 5th World Internet Conference (WIC) on Nov 7-9, and preparation has entered the final stage. Officials urged all parties to tighten the final nuts and bolts to ensure the event is a success.

Che emphasized two key aspects of the conference organization: security and environmental protection. He also stressed the importance of establishing long-term and efficient matchmaking mechanisms to attract more talents, technologies and capital to be stationed in Zhejiang in the future.
