The Zhoushan branch of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co, China's third-largest shipbuilder by output, completed and delivered a container ship to Maersk Line, the world's largest container shipping company, on Feb 1.
Maersk placed an order of seven container ships with COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co in 2015. It was the first order the world shipping giant made with a Chinese company.
The first vessel, known as N688, is 200 meters long, 35.2 meters wide and 18.1 meters high. It is the first container ship the Zhoushan branch has made in 13 years.
The other six ships will be completed and delivered by the end of 2018.
