Hangzhou deputies review government's work report
Wang Yongfu, chairman of Xizi UHC, a leading equipment manufacturer in China, thought the administrative reform reflects the provincial government's strong determination to improve and provide better public service.
"Internationalization" was a key word in the Hangzhou deputies' discussion. The work report stated that the building of a metropolitan area is a component of Zhejiang's modernization, and it requires the collection of high-end elements, more innovation, the promotion of internationalization, and the construction of a rail transit system.
Hong Qinghua, director of the Hangzhou Development and Reform Commission, said Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang, should lead the way in building the metropolitan area and speed up its efforts to become a global city. "When Hangzhou raises its development ambitions, it needs strong support from the provincial government," Hong said.

Services for senior citizens are crucial to the wellbeing of the people. The government work report claimed that 1,811 service centers for the elderly were built in Zhejiang in 2017.
Zhao Naigang, Party secretary of Cangqiao subdistrict, Xiacheng district, Hangzhou, expressed his thoughts on how to provide comprehensive personal services to the elderly. He said that in addition to improving facilities and equipment in nursing homes, the government should also focus on "soft power", such as the quality and capacity of care workers.
