Light of Internet Expo kicks off in Wuzhen

The Light of the Internet Exposition of the fourth World Internet Conference (WIC) raised its curtain in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, on Dec 2.
The expo, with a theme of "Developing Digital Economy for Openness and Shared Benefits-Building a Cyberspace Community of a Common Future", will showcase the latest internet technologies and applications from around the world, highlighting artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and other areas.
Xu Lin, director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, announced the opening of the expo and Yuan Jiajun, governor of Zhejiang, addressed the opening ceremony.
Along with experiencing the demonstration, participants in this year's exposition will also witness the release of new products and technologies and attend discussions on project cooperation among Chinese and foreign internet giants.
Attracting 411 renowned internet enterprises from home and abroad, there will also be activities running alongside the expo, including 118 launches for new technologies and products and 10 meetings working on internet project cooperation.
Representatives from the Cyberspace Administration of China, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province were also present at the opening ceremony. The number of the guests, media reporters and company representatives exceeded 400.
The event is hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and co-organized by the Cyberspace Administration of Zhejiang, Zhejiang Provincial Economic and Information Commission, Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, China Internet Network Information Center, Internet Society of China and the Tongxiang Municipal Government.
Yang Xiaowei, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, Chen Zhaoxiong, vice-minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ge Huijun, director of the Publicity Department of Zhejiang, and Gao Xingfu, deputy governor of Zhejiang, were also present at the event. Zhuang Rongwen, vice-director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, hosted the opening ceremony.
