Zhejiang entrepreneurs attend biennial gathering in Hangzhou

The 4th World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Convention, a biennial grand event for Zhejiang province's business sector, opened in Hangzhou on Nov 29.
A total of over 2,800 people from around the globe attended the plenary on the first day, hitting a record high. The two-day event will feature a range of activities that are expected to attract a total of more than 33,000 Zhejiang businesspeople from 60 countries and regions.
Moreover, the convention has invited representatives from foreign companies, international organizations and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as high-caliber professionals from home and abroad to have exchanges.
Che Jun, Party secretary of Zhejiang province, addressed the opening ceremony on Wednesday, in which he stressed his high appreciation for Zhejiang entrepreneurs' contribution to the region's overall development.
According to Che, the private sector provides 60 percent of Zhejiang province's total tax revenue, 70 percent of its GDP and 90 percent of its jobs. "Zhejiang entrepreneurs have formed one of the most famous and active business groups in China," Che remarked.
