120 Zhejiang enterprises on '2017 China Top 500 Private Enterprises List'
The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce unveiled its latest list of top 500 Chinese private enterprises on August 24, 2017. 120 Zhejiang-based private enterprises were on the list, ranking first for the 19th consecutive year.
Zhejiang is a province with a private economy and it is also one of the regions that initially started internationalization. However, there are a few industry leaders in Zhejiang. According to the list, the top three enterprises are Huawei (Guangdong province), Suning (Jiangsu province) and Weiqiao Pioneering (Shandong province). Zhejiang Geely, ranked 13th on the list, is the top Zhejiang enterprise.
There are four other Zhejiang enterprises in the list's top 30. They are Hailiang Group, Qingshan Holding Group, Tianneng Group and Chilwee Group, ranking 18th, 26th, 29th and 30th respectively.
Overall, there was an increase in the threshold finalists this year. A minimum net worth of 12.052 billion yuan ($1.808 billion) was required to make the cut, up from 10.175 billion yuan ($ 1.527 billion) when compared to last year.
Zhejiang's giants like Alibaba, Hengdian Group, Geentown didn't apply to be in the list.
