Statistics from Liepin also show that talents in Hangzhou enjoy an average yearly salary of 184,500 yuan ($27,181), closely following Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou at 230,300 yuan, 226,600 yuan, 224,900 yuan, and 202,100 yuan respectively.
On the other hand, it leads in annual income for new first-tier cities such as Xiamen, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Dongguan, and Changsha.
These cities are all popular working destinations for graduating students, according the latest survey released by Zhaopin Ltd, a leading career platform in China.
Among the 93,420 questionnaires returned, 37.5 percent of new graduates prefer to work in Hangzhou-similar cities, already higher than the 29.9 percent of those who still have a preference for traditional big cities.
“The economic living costs and ever-growing working opportunities have attracted more and more graduates to come, work, and live,” an analyst at Zhaopin said.
