Keqiao district in eastern Shaoxing city hosted China's largest textile expo in spring - the China Keqiao International Textile Expo 2017 (Spring) from May 6 to 8.
This year's expo featured 1,550 booths and 665 exhibiting companies spread over a total area of 34,000 square meters, making it the largest spring expo in the textile industry in China to date.
China is the focus of the world textile industry, and Keqiao is the center of Chinese textiles. The district has the largest number of textile factories of any area in Zhejiang province, historically the main hub for the industry.
Founded in 1999, the Keqiao textile expo stands out among China's many fabric exhibitions and is widely considered to be one of the top three expos of its kind, together with the Shanghai Apparel Fabric Show and the Canton Fair.
The event therefore offers a good platform for textile makers from around the world to show off their latest products, and more than 400,000 textile types were on display at the event, including those from Korea, Japan, Germany and many other countries.
There were also assorted kinds of textile-related products on show, such as accessories and manufacturing machinery.
To better contribute to the development of the global textile industry, the Keqiao expo organized a series of activities for exchanges and cooperation during the three-day event.
Symposiums with different focuses were arranged for sellers and buyers. Industry insiders were offered the chance to talk about upgrading supply chains and improving services.
These activities were beneficial to the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry and will further promote Keqiao's leading role in this sector.
