The First West Lake International Documentary Festival (IDF) concluded in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on April 22.

The three-day audio-visual feast was a joint effort of the China Academy of Art and the Zhejiang provincial bureau of press, publication, radio, film and television.

Promoting the return of documentary values and representations, the festival attracted 40 feature-length and short-subject documentaries in various categories like history and culture, social humanities, natural and environmental protection, and folk customs.
