Zhejiang companies to attend Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan
A total of 85 companies from Zhejiang province have confirmed to attend the forthcoming Expo 2017 in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan from June 10 to Sep 10.
Themed on "Future Energy", the international exposition will welcome a delegation of about 150 representatives from Zhejiang energy companies and will host a "Zhejiang Day" event for the first time at the expo. The logo for "Zhejiang Day" has been released, featuring the province's famous silk and the Qiantang River incorporated into the design.
A promotional conference will be held before Expo 2017 in the city of Almaty for Zhejiang companies to introduce themselves and attract foreign investment.
Kazakhstan is the first stop of Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight train, and plays an important role along the Belt and Road Initiative. With a vast territory and a sparse population, the country is rich in petroleum, gas and mineral resources.
Zhejiang province has internationally leading technologies in energy exploitation and management. The international cooperation between Zhejiang and Kazakhstan is promising, according to Zhang Qingshan, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Provincial Committee.
China's pavilion at Expo 2017 is expected to demonstrate China's contribution to the world's modern energy industry by displaying the achievements China has made to upgrade its energy sector through utilizing renewables, protecting the environment and promoting sustainable economic development.
