Zhoushan aviation industry looks for lift-off
More than 130 guests from aviation-related companies, associations, research institutes and financing organizations landed in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, on March 10 to discuss the future of the aviation industry in the island city.
The attendees also inspected the city's infrastructure designed to help the aviation achieve lift-off, including the exhibition hall of Zhoushan Archipelago, the aviation industrial park and Putuoshan Airport, as well as the marine industry cluster area.
An official from the investment promotion bureau of Zhoushan Archipelago New Area introduced the general plan of the city's aviation industrial park. He said the park was made up of two functional areas: One on Zhujiajian island, for aircraft manufacturing, airline operation, scientific research, finance, trade and logistics; and the other in the north of Zhoushan, for component manufacturing.
Zhoushan has attached great importance to aviation development in recent years. Boeing's first overseas plant will soon be built in the city.
To further boost the development of the aviation industry, the city will also develop an entire industrial chain for aircraft manufacturing, with the capacity of assembling, delivering and modifying 600 aircraft a year by 2025.
