Zhejiang brands shine at the East China Fair
Companies from Zhejiang province are attracting more attention than ever before at China's biggest trade fair, the East China Fair (ECF), which opened on March 1 in Shanghai, china.com.cn reported.
A total of 907 Zhejiang companies are attending the event and are running some 1,550 booths, the most of any Chinese province, at the annual fair, which runs till March 5.
Faced with a complex international trade environment, Zhejiang has made quality rather than price the main focus of its promotion efforts this year, with the slogan "quality Zhejiang goods" appearing all over the East China province's booths.
"In the phase of stressing quality over quantity, we are looking for new ways to promote Zhejiang brands," said Han Jie, deputy head of Zhejiang Commerce Department.
The largest Chinese trade fair in terms of size and trade volume, ECF has attracted 3,900 companies and sold 5,670 booths this year. The 2016 edition of the fair was attended by 14,645 domestic traders and 21,454 international businesspeople from 114 countries and regions, generating an accumulated trading value of $2.31 billion.
