Wu Opera is extremely popular in Zhejiang province and, on Feb 20, some 30 students from a primary school in Jiande city, Zhejiang province, had the special chance to learn and engage with the storied art form.

Under the guidance of their art teacher, the young minds used colorful pens and paper plates to draw a variety of Wu Opera's iconic masks.

Since 2014, Xin'anjiang No.3 Primary School has been committed to promoting understanding Wu Opera by setting up this special drawing class. The class is believed to be a great way to help promote the inheritance of Wu Opera, which is one of Zhejiang's provincial-level intangible cultural heritages.
