Yiwu city calls for capital and projects to come home

Seven projects with a total investment volume of 17 billion yuan ($ 2.47 billion) were successfully signed at the 2nd World Yiwu Entrepreneurs Convention on Feb 2 in Yiwu, Zhejiang province.
More than 500 Yiwu businesspeople from around the world were summoned to their hometown to discuss the future development of the city and to encourage more capital and projects to come home.
Wang Xinfeng, vice mayor of the city, outlined the current investment environment to the convention attendees. He said in the manufacturing sector, Yiwu is going to promote the development of the fashion, information, equipment and health industries. In the service sector, the logistics, finance, tourism and culture industries will be given priority. The city hopes to attract investment in accordance with local needs.
To provide better services, Yiwu has given extra attention to local infrastructures and supporting policies regarding transportation, medical care, education and sports over recent years and has witnessed great changes happening in this city.
Being included into the construction of the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan corridor and Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight rail lines, the city has taken a strategic role in the country's 'One Belt, One Road' initiative.
Wang expects that Yiwu businesspeople can bring more capital and projects back home, and promised that the government would fully support such investments.
