The awards Zhejiang gained are a solid reflection of industry-university-research cooperation, according to the provincial science and technology department. Among the 13 Zhejiang-dominated projects, over 70 percent of them resulted from industry-university-research cooperation, producing a total economic benefit of 60 billion yuan ($8.67 billion) over the past three years.

More than half of these projects came from the manufacturing sector, such as the new technology developed by Jushi Group, a global manufacturer of fiberglass products based in Zhejiang. Internet Plus also played a key role in the scientific and technological progress of Zhejiang. Four of the projects dominated by the province were innovative results supported by Internet Plus.
