Brain wave product contributes to health care
"Yi Xiu", an intelligent sleeping mask that can play different music according to changes in a user's brain waves, will be on display at the third World Internet Conference — The Light of Internet Expo, which opened in the afternoon of Nov 15.
Before the expo, Yi Haoxiang, CEO of Kether Corporation — a company focused on developing brain wave controlling devices — said last year there was a car that visitors could control using their minds. While impressive, it was nothing more than an elaborate toy; however, this year, the company changed their focus to health care.
The intended users for the intelligent Yi Xiu eye mask are those young people who were born in the 1980s or 1990s. They are under a significant amount of work pressure and cannot enjoy powerful sleep. Programmers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants, and financial practitioners are all potential users of this product.
The eye mask has three main functions: play music to help users relax according to brain wave frequencies, block outside noise to help maintain high-quality sleep, and use different awakening modes when users are in different sleep states.
Yi said the company started to develop the product a year ago, but because it involves various subjects including engineering, psychology, and the arts, the research team failed many times.
"I wish this product can soon contribute to people's health," Yi added.
