Guests and visitors will see a large number of technological achievements at the third World Internet Conference, according to a leading official of Zhejiang province.

"The achievements cover advanced technologies and products in cyberspace, aiming to show how the internet will develop and what innovations will lead the world," said Lai Yingjie, executive deputy director of Zhejiang's publicity department.

The release of the achievements is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of the opening day of the conference, which will run from Wednesday to Friday in Wuzhen, a historical town in the province, according to Lai.

He said that the achievements refer to global leading technologies and theories. "We will organize 116 enterprises to display their achievements during the conference, providing more opportunities for visitors to see them and try them out," he said.

Ren Xianliang, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, said that more than 400 achievements from more than 300 businesses and academic institutions from home and abroad have been submitted to the conference as candidates, such as Microsoft Corp, IBM Corp and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

"All the candidates are being reviewed by a panel of well-known scientists, and the ones that will be unveiled at the conference will have passed a strict selection process," Ren said.

Wang Sixin, a law professor specializing in cybersecurity at the Communication University of China, said that he is looking forward to seeing the achievements.

"I want to know how technology will bring us to the future and what contributions the internet will make," Wang said. "I'm interested in the innovations."

Li Yuxiao, secretary-general of the Cybersecurity Association of China, agreed. He suggested the release of such achievements should be a regular event at the annual conference.

Almost 1,100 volunteers, selected from 15 colleges in Zhejiang, are ready to serve guests from around the world, Lai said, adding that they are good at 10 languages, such as English, Japanese and Spanish.

"We are also providing a special smartphone application for the conference," Lai said.

Sheng Yongjun, mayor of Tongxiang, where Wuzhen is located, said that the town will become more informationalized. "People will continue to enjoy free Wi-Fi and the speed will be faster."
